Two parter "Deep Cover for Batman" and "Game over for Owlman" were a take on the universe from JLA Earth 2. Someone referenced Knights of Tomorrow which was pretty good. It took me a bit but it finally grew on me. The whole show isn't crap, but it can be too goofy sometimes, and I get that. The humor in the Batman Multiplicity episode, and the more adult themes (for a modern cartoon, I guess) like in "Chill of the Night" make it a fun show to watch.įrankly, I think if anyone truly hates the show, I propose they look at an episode guide, find some episodes that have elements or characters they like, and give it a shot. Plus, visual gags like the "walking up walls" scene from the Adam West show returning as an intro scene for an episode, and Owlman coming to Gotham and dressing as TAS Batman. In one episode, Adam West plays Bruce's dad, while folks like Kevin Conroy play Batman of Zur-en-Arrh (in a story that makes Batman into a Superman), Bruce's dad, and The Phantom Stranger, with Mark Hamill as The Spectre. One thing I like in particular is their referencing of other things Bat-related. I mean, yeah, there are a lot of silly episodes and such, and rehashed villains like Grodd again and again, but seriously, it's a good show, and if you consider it a complete homage to the Silver Era, I can't imagine the hate being overwhelming. The show should really be more accepted than it is.
BATMAN THE BRAVE AND THE BOLD IMDB SERIES
I love that show so much, I just wish Netflix would put the rest of the series on instant watch because I want to find out what happens in the second half of the Starro invasion, damn it!

You will keep finding little things that are references to past stuff, and I get a kick out of stuff like that. The Brave and the Bold is very much a Batman fan's cartoon, with little easter eggs and nods to the comics, the other cartoons, the 1966 series, and even the movies. Did you really ever expect to see Kamandi ever make an appearance on TV? I doubt it, but there he was! The idea of Batman teaming up with other superheroes, often ones we've never seen animated before, to take down villains that have also received just as little screen time, is not only a refreshing spin on things but really opened them up to exploring the DC universe and having some fun.
